Dan Brown on how Aerosmith inspired him
Dan Brown recounts the story of speaking to Steve Tyler, Aerosmith’s lead singer. Steve shared the concept of regular meetings where everyone “dares to suck“ and shares their worst ideas. As it turns out not every idea we’re not sure about is bad indeed – sometimes it leads to creating a masterpiece. This fearless approach to brainstorming shows that you can achieve great work in creativity by daring to be terrible first.
Ed Catmull’s Creativity, Inc
You may recognize Ed Catmull as Pixar’s co-founder. Well, that’s because he is. And he’s author of this book which recounts the story achieving the bold idea of creating the world’s first computer-animated movie. He did that against all odds, as it took him 9 years to do something that eventually revolutionized the world of animation. Ed is a perfect example of how the boldness of an individual’s creativity may shape the world we live in.
