Hey! We’ve got to say, you look gorgeous today. So much so that we have some dirty thoughts emerging in our mind just by the sight of you.
The people who made the commercials we’re about to show you must have been in a similar state of mind while coming up with the script as the one we’re in right now. All three videos that we’ll watch together in a second have aired on TV only to be taken down for… well, you’ll easily figure out why, we guess:
Doritos
When it comes to dirty ads, Doritos are our undisputed favourites. Which is why we want to show you a video with three of their banned ads that are simply pure genius. The technique they used – throwing attractive women (and sometimes men) on screen to draw attention – is probably something you can replicate and implement quite successfully in your own campaigns. But yeah, try to be a bit more subtle than Doritos.
Soesman Language Institute
If you’re reading this, chances are you speak English. Unless, of course, you Google Translate everything, but wow, you must be very into us to do it. Anyway, this commercial shows a family that understands like, ummm… nothing in English. So they hop in the car, turn the radio on and hear a nice upbeat song that sounds just like one of those American pop hits! Except they don’t have a clue what the lyrics mean. Fortunately, it was taken down.
Why fortunately? Well, because what’s most amazing about this ad, we think, is the fact that the people it’s targeting wouldn’t even get the idea while the other part of the audience would’ve simply be shocked.
Zazoo
Well, okay, this isn’t exactly a dirty commercial. But the product it advertises is. And, oh boy, talk about an effective way to make young people buy your product, there aren’t many ads that would do a better job than that. As for why was it banned, we’ve got no clue. But it was, and that qualifies it for our list!
So, were the ads dirty enough for you, or should we try better next time? You know we will!
