Hey there, sweetie! We’ve been thinking about you non-stop these past two weeks and had your voice in our head this whole time. Speaking of voice, last time we told you that we aim to start our own podcast at some point in the near future.
That’s why we’ve been listening to the best ones out there to gain some ideas and inspiration. And we want to share with you our top 3 episodes. They all revolve around one topic – owning a business as opposed to working for someone else. Here they are:
The Tim Ferriss Show – Bo Shao
Co-founder of Evolve and Parent Lab, Bo Shao, shares his journey from rationing food to managing billions of dollars. One of the more curious topics discussed is how and why did Bo choose to come back to China and work on a startup instead of taking an offer for a lucrative job in the US after graduating from Harvard. Other themes include the ups and downs of startup life, personal introspection, self discovery, and a lot more. A truly great episode for people who have difficult time making a choice between a high-paying job and taking the risk to start something on their own!
Foundation – Matt Mullenweg, Founder of WordPress
Co-creator of the publishing platform that enables 30% of the web, Matt Mullenweg, discusses the early days of WordPress – how it came into being, challenges faced, and decisions taken to take the platform to what we know today. Additionally, he talks about all the lessons he’s learned during that time. That makes for a great episode, from which anyone who just starts out their business may learn from.
Svetofar – Entrepreneur or An Employee
Our co-founder, Nikolay Dimov, discusses the positives and negatives of entrepreneurship and gives advice on how to find which works best for you – working for yourself or for someone else. We hope our international readers would excuse us plugging in this episode in Bulgarian, but we couldn’t help it – it’s a banger with lots of things to take from it.
So, what would you rather be – an entrepreneur or an employee?
P.S. Of course, we absolutely respect everyone who prefers being an employee. After all, one of our biggest clients is the largest HR agency in Bulgaria – HRS.
